WRMC Only One of Five Hospitals to Be Recognized
Kaiser Health News (KHN) recently recognized White River Medical Center (WRMC) as one of only five hospitals in Arkansas to stay within the readmission standard for 2020. Hospitals that are unable to stay within the readmission range are penalized with reductions in government funding by as much as three percent for each patient. Under programs set up by the Affordable Care Act, hospitals must meet this criteria along with reduction in infections and patient injuries. Readmission rates and hospital-acquired conditions for hospitals across the United States can be seen at khn.org/news/hospital-penalties.
WRMC is a 224-bed regional referral center and the flagship facility of White River Health (WRHS). WRHS is a not-for-profit healthcare system serving residents throughout North Central Arkansas. The system includes hospitals, outpatient facilities, primary care and specialty physician office practices, and senior life centers. WRHS is a member of the Premier Alliance, the American Hospital Association, and the Arkansas Hospital Association and licensed by the Arkansas Department of Health.
